INTRO
It was April, such a lovely month full of lovely surprises. The 12th was JUST a few days away, and of course, I was extremely eager. My father scraped up enough money for the wondorous, supposedly luxorious trip, to America. I was only going to bring several dresses, and my diary. Yes, my diary. The possession to me that matters more than what most girls my age would worry about: For example, those fancy hats with huge fake feathers, or the lace-trimmed gloves that became such a popular fashion. Yeah, sure, we were going in middle class! But hey, it's better than Third, right? At least I'll see the beauties of the Atlantic. Yes, that's right. 17-year-old ME, Melanie Trugor is going on the breath-taking Titanic...
