Mary-Sue Mania
Chapter One: Melanie
As I looked in the compact mirror I had I fell in love. A perfect heart-shaped, tan face with lips glossed pink with perfection; blush tinted the cheeks and a simple splash of baby blue eye shadow and a touch of mascara completed the make-up. Wavy, silky blond bangs fell to the lashes that were on beautiful, sparkling green eyes. It was impossible to describe; I was in love with my reflection. I looked perfect; a ten out of ten!
I looked down at my body, which took after the shape of Mikuru’s, if you know what I mean. A perfect hour-glass figure with a very tight, blue Hollister top and faded blue jeans, don’t forget the latest Jimmy Choo boots! Designer all the way and you’ve got a friend to stay. I was working at Hollister, at the check-out counter, smiling a smile with perfect white teeth into my compact mirror. Brace-less, no under-bite or over-bite; I was perfect all around. The door opened, and I flashed a sparkly smile at the customer.
“Welcome to Hollister! We’re not hiring unless you look positively smetzi in a Hollister shirt!” I smiled. Once the light from my smile cleared, I saw it was my gorgeous friend Melanie. I jumped gracefully over the tall counter, my boots tapping on the tiles, and ran over to her. I enveloped her into an air-hug. I could smell her perfume, and her shampoo. A kiwi-chocolate mix flew up my nose.
“So, rate me, mall-chic style,” Melanie said, taking her iPhone out of her purse and pretending to talk on it while holding her Victoria’s Secret shopping bag. She put one foot in front of the other, like she was walking out the do-o-or!
I took in her shiny, sleek black hair that cascaded down to her shoulders in straight locks, fitting her face perfectly. Her ivory-skinned face and her bright, dazzling blue eyes looked amazing in the light of the Hollister store. She looked just like me from the neck-down, figure-wise. A perfect hourglass, with a rather cute pink mini-skirt and a pink tube-top worked well with her white high heels. Three inches, precisely, I thought to myself. She looked like an ivory-skinned goddess, and she was working that pale better than the smetzi Edward Cullen could ever do.
“Definitely a 9.5,” I said. “Beautiful. You look just beautiful.”
“What can I do to be a ten?” Melanie asked, spinning around about twenty times, causing her hair to fly about, and boys in the vicinity to wolf-whistle.
“Be me, silly!” I laughed. Melanie laughed as well, and we air-hugged, as to not wrinkle our perfect shirts. <3
